So, here we are. Back in Dubai, that I visited in April '23 for a week of photography with my friend Nicolas Shin.
Dubai is not known for its wildlife. Every time I would say that I'd go there to make a wildlife documentary, I would receive round eyes and surprised faces in return : "Dubai, really ? Is there much to do there ? Isn't there only skyscrapers and the desert there ?!"
Well, to be frank, that's pretty much the idea I had about it before I came here 18 monthes ago. Dubai is more known as a business center than a wildlife sanctuary. That said, being rich can also offer you the luxury to be eco-friendly. Here, the voluntarism goes one step further as Dubai government has basically decided to create an ecosystem that was not existing before, a.k.a the Al Marmoom Conservation Reserve", located about 50km south east of Dubai City.
